Alexandr Dolgopolov has a self-proclaimed nickname. He’s called “The Dog” by his inner circle and fans. And his Nissan GT-R is well-suited to the name.
According to Fox Sports, the car is chrome all over with a Doberman painted on both sides. It reads “The Dog” just above the rear wheel well.
If you’re interested, it’s a Nissan GT-R and he is looking to race it at the Ukrainian drag race championship. As his own website states:
“Off court there is one thing that totally thrills him and that is his love of fast cars and rally driving. There is no doubt if he was not such a tremendous tennis player he would be a rally driver.
“In July, 2012 he took delivery of his pride and joy, a Nissan GT-R which is said to be the most powerful street car produced with its 1800 bhp. Talk about playing in the fast lane!”
To put that into context, modern Formula One cars boast ‘only’ 800-1000 brake horsepower… Wow.
On a side note, Dolgopolov’s Instagram account borders on the “Oh-no-he-didn’t” level with one post of a cat cleaning himself. The caption reads: “It’s like giving ‘likes’ to yourself.” Dolgopolov wrote, “Agreed.”
Since when do dogs like cats, anyway?
