Roger Federer mastered the courts, now he’s trying his hand at a little online comedy.
And his niche? Puns.
Prepping for the upcoming French Open, Federer snapped a shot at Stade Roland Garros that showed what appeared to be hail on the court.
Not practicing in the hail (for obvious reasons of safety) gave Federer a few moments to snap the picture, upload it to Faceook, and strike comedy gold with his message.
The message was a simple pun:
“Had to stop practice for a few minutes…what the hail is going on here…”
The response: 26,838 likes and 437 shares.
It was a big week in social media for Federer as he also joined the Twitterverse (finally…) last Thursday. His first tweet? Just acknowledgement of his existence:
“A little (blue) bird told me that the place to be is @twitter, so here I am! pic.twitter.com/8AQzBsC6ia”
The picture with the tweet looks more like General Zod from the upcoming “Man of Steel,” but, hey, he’s trying.
So far, he has close to 243,000 followers… and counting.
